About Me...burlesque pasties are my speciality!
I started making burlesque accessories after passing my M.A in Applied Art & Design (Textiles) in September 2008. I was surprised to be approached by a few people who asked whether I could make burlesque accessories such as pasties and tassels. It was something of a departure from my digital textile prints and sculptural handbags made from recycled vintage gloves, but I decided to give it a go and began selling items online.
I now have a customer base which is growing steadily, and I would like to welcome more new customers who would like to add a bit of extra sparkle to their act! Inspiration for my designs comes from old technicolour films, advertising graphics, and old-school burlesque stars such as Bettie Page, Tempest Storm and Gypsy Rose Lee - resulting in a themed range of products which could fit in well with a number of performance styles.
I love to use fabrics such as gingham and animal prints, small technicolour prints, and of course sequins, which I use as both an embellishment or accent on a design, or as a complete surface which is completely handstitched in my "classic" sequinned range (below)
I can make these in a multitude of colours, and am able to match them to suit practically any colour scheme. If I can get the sequins - I can make the pasties!
My pasties and tassels are lined with a soft faux suede for added comfort. I test all new designs and ahve found they adhere well when used with a good quality double sided "boob" tape.
